I get asked this one a lot by the "adventure at any cost" crowd. The short answer? No, not really. Technically, in Wales, you need the landowner's permission. While some high-altitude bivvying is tolerated if you’re discreet and "leave no trace," you run the risk of a very awkward conversation with a farmer at 4 AM.
